Tracy Croucher grew up in Westport and Hamilton. She graduated from Ilam of School of Fine Arts, Canterbury University in 1984. Tracy was taught by Doris Lusk and Don Peebles. From 1984 - 1991 she exhibited regularly at Brooke Gifford Gallery, Christchurch, Bowen Galleries, Wellington and RKS Art, Auckland. In 1991 Tracy and her partner Tim Croucher moved to Hamilton for Tim to take up a job at Wintec. They have four sons. Tracy works part-time in the oncology ward at Waikato Hospital.
With this series Tracy revisits earlier subjects and techniques with a new approach resulting in a fresh and lyrical look. The patterning is borrowed from a quilt Tracy's sister in law Catherine gave the family and the flowers have come from the garden.
